Think Strava but for hiking, includes reviews and photos of routes. Easy to use, even showing the gradients on route and logs all of your activity. Keep track of how many walks you’ve done throughout the years and how many miles you’ve done.
LensBuddy
One for if you’re travelling solo or if you want to get the perfect group shot. It’s an app that’s a photo timer that will take photos continuously so you can put your phone down/prop your phone up and get those Instagram shots.

A route finder that includes nearby campsites and places to eat on route, perfect for those bigger adventures and to keep every where you’re planning on going in one place.
Cairn
Perfect for if you’re travelling solo and are struggling for signal, communicate with your emergency contact and let them know if you’re delayed or have run into trouble.
What3Words
Provides an exact description of your location, great for when you’re sharing a meeting point or more importantly if you need to communicate where you are to emergency services.
Park4night
For those in a camper, motorhome or 4×4; the app has recommendations of where you can park up for the night with feedback from other app users of which locations are best for facilities or even just the best views.
AccuWeather
Get accurate and up to date weather forecast with hourly updates all the way to forecasts for the following month. Great for planning those adventures in advance.
