“I capture adventures to share the feeling of being deeply connected to our earth and its stories.” - Melanie Toebbe.
In today’s fast-paced world, we spend far too little time outside, immersed in real, wild nature. We’ve forgotten what it feels like to truly be in nature. To hear the wind, feel the earth, and move with the rhythm of the land. Together, Melanie and Joelle set off to Kazakhstan in search of that lost connection. A country where the roads end, the signal fades, and the journey becomes raw and real. What better place to rediscover that deep sense of belonging to nature? For an entire month, Melanie and Joelle journeyed across the vast East and West of Kazakhstan. Equipped with nothing more than minimalist camping gear and a set of GPS coordinates, they set off into the unknown. Their path led them off-road through endless steppe landscapes and nights in the middle of nowhere. Through early sunrises on empty roads, dust in their boots, and long conversations under endless skies, they were reminded of something essential. That slowing down, feeling small, and surrendering to nature is exactly what we’re meant for. "Humans are meant to be outdoors.“
