As a child growing up in South Leeds, Craig loved to explore everything Yorkshire had to offer, from summer holidays in Scarborough to hiking with the 4th Gildersome Scout Group from Kettlewell, up Great Whernside to Hag Dyke in snow drifts!

“Walking was in my veins, but what happens when all that changes?”

During his time at University in the 90’s, Craig was involved in an accident that left him paralysed from the chest down and a wheelchair user. Instead of mulling over what this stopped him from doing, he spent some time living, working and travelling throughout Europe and Central America.

He returned to Yorkshire after 8 years, with loads of experience from working in the inclusive travel industry and a passion for helping others like himself, to enjoy the great outdoors. He wanted a new challenge, so set up Experience Community and began to organise and lead rambles and adapted bike rides for wheelchair users and their families around the North of England. Craig also films different routes to illustrate the accessibility of them and is keen to involve disabled people in wildlife watching and conservation opportunities.

“It’s amazing what you can find right there on your doorstep.”
