Welcome to the world
of Galapagos

Located in the Pacific Ocean, the volcanic Galapagos Islands consist of thirteen main islands and over 120 rocky islets. Surrounded by 198,000km2 of marine reserve, both land and sea are home to an incredible array of species, many of which are found nowhere else on Earth. We proudly support Galapagos Conservation Trust with funding, to carry out vital research.

Meet Sofia Green

Hi I’m a Marine Biologist, born and raised in Ecuador. Since being very little I have worked in the Galapagos Islands. One of my earliest memories was swimming with sharks and since then I have been enthralled with marine life.

What is “Blue Carbon”

AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Blue Carbon describes how carbon is stored from the atmosphere in the marine environment, as a way to mitigate climate change.

reduce image

Reduce

Reducing our emissions alone is not enough. We need to remove carbon from the atmosphere.

remove image

REMOVE

Carbon is taken up directly by vegetation in the ocean and also stored in vast quantities in animals such as whale sharks.

PROTECT

Protecting marine ecosystems and species living in our oceans is vital for our future.
