The Mild Mediterranean
The Mild Mediterranean is distinguished by hot, dry summers and cool wet winters. Areas affected by this weather are located between 30° and 45° latitude north and south of the Equator.
Countries with this climate experience high temperatures, due to their close proximity to a large body of water. During the summer, cold currents draw in dry air which can lead to little to no rain. Winter months see an increase in rainfall due to the warmer currents attracting more moisture in the atmosphere. Higher grounds can often see snow in Winter months, but it is unusual for lower levels.
Places in this climate zone:

- Western Cape in South Africa
- Central Chile
- Southern Western Australia
- Coastal areas of South Australia
