At Craghoppers, we are on a journey of sustainability. A journey to become the best we can be, in areas which are very important to us.
As part of our Mindfully Made project (which was previously Honesty Project) we set out ways in which we could make a positive difference on an ethical, environmental, social, conservation and sustainable product level. We work as a team across departments to set ourselves goals and help make things happen and we have the constant support of company owner, Joanne Black.
Here’s just a snapshot of what we have been doing and why we are so proud to be Brand of the Year (£30m+) in the Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards 2020:
So we work with the Ethical Trading Initiative to ensure that the workers in our factories are treated fairly and have a voice, all in accordance with the ETI Base code.
To be kinder on the environment, we have zero waste going to landfill from our head office and warehouse facilities and we are working with UNFCCC Fashion for Global Climate Action, committed to net zero emissions by 2050.
We have supported a school in Bangladesh for many years, helping to provide an education for disadvantaged and disabled children. We also supply them all with a nutritious meal, which for some is their main meal of the day. We host an educational programme for women in our factories to teach them essential skills from health to finance.
We work with a number of partners including Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, Galapagos Conservation Trust and Saving the Survivors to help the conservation of endangered animals and protect our precious oceans.
From a sustainable product angle, we have been working hard to offer you the consumer more choice in clothing and equipment made from recycled materials. We are so delighted that from this Winter, we have increased that % of product from 12-70%.
